But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.

As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…

My Review: I LOVED reading this book!!  This is the second book in the series, and its just as explosive as the first book!  I can't wait to see how this series plays out!  Jennifer is one of my favorite authors.  She grabs your attention from the get go, and you don't want to put it down.  You start to feel for the characters, and wonder if they'll get their happy ending.

Review: Lumiere by Jacqueline Garlick

Lumiere by Jacqueline Garlick
Published Date: December 2013
Publisher: Self
Genre: YA

The Story: One determined girl. One resourceful boy. One miracle machine that could destroy everything.

After an unexplained flash shatters her world, seventeen-year-old Eyelet Elsworth sets out to find the Illuminator, her father’s prized invention. With it, she hopes to cure herself of her debilitating seizures before Professor Smrt—her father’s arch nemesis—discovers her secret and locks her away in an asylum.

Pursued by Smrt, Eyelet locates the Illuminator only to see it whisked away. She follows the thief into the world of the unknown, compelled not only by her quest but by the allure of the stranger—Urlick Babbit—who harbors secrets of his own.

Together, they endure deadly Vapours and criminal-infested woods in pursuit of the same prize, only to discover the miracle machine they hoped would solve their problems may in fact be their biggest problem of all.

My Review: This book was awesome!!  It had strong similarities to the Clockwork series, more on the instance that there's a machine that's suppose to be the best thing to happen.  In Lumiere, we follow Eyelet who was given a promise from her father that the machine he was working on would cure her of her seizures.  We're taken into a world that get's rid of those who are not in perfect health, nor in perfect form.  I loved every bit of this book!!  Can't wait to read the second one in the series!

Review: Air by Shauna Granger

Air by Shauna Granger
Published Date: October 2011
Publisher: Self
Genre: YA

The Story: It was a rough start to the school year for Shayna and her friends, Jodi and Steven, but thankfully summer break is near. Trying to sort out her feelings for the new guy in town, Shayna agrees to let Jensen join her on a group date with her friends. While out they end up at a local coffee house where their classmate, social outcast Jeremy McCormick, is humiliated by his baseball star brother. When Jeremy runs away from the jeering crowd, Shayna and Jodi hear the unmistakable sound of a thousand wings chasing after him, but no one else seems to hear them. These are not like any air elementals that Shayna or Jodi have ever encountered before and they fear Jeremy has gotten himself tangled up in something too dangerous for him to handle. But when Shayna tries to help Jeremy control his magical abilities she realizes it might be the biggest mistake of her life.

My Review:  Well, I loved reading Earth the first book in this series.  And Air didn't disappoint!  This series is sort of like Captain Planet, with the different elements of the earth being controlled by only certain people!  Shauna Granger has written a really good story line, where you don't get lost by all that's going on, but it engages you to want to continue reading to find out what happens to Shayna and her friends!

Review: Fireblood by Trisha Wolfe

Fireblood by Trisha Wolfe
Published Date: December 2013
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Genre: YA

The Story: To save a kingdom, Zara must choose between a prince who could be the answer and a rising rebellion that threatens to take control.

When Zara Dane is chosen to marry Prince Sebastian Hart, son of the man who ordered her father’s capture, Zara knows she must fight to save everything she loves from ruin.

Being betrothed to the prince means a life trapped behind the towering stone walls of the Camelot-forged realm. Under the watchful eye of the prince's first knight, Sir Devlan Capra, changing her future becomes difficult.

When an unlikely rebel reveals the truth about the deadly secrets that fuel King Hart’s twisted world, Zara’s path to rescue her father becomes clouded by deception. The Rebels clear her path by forcing Zara’s hand with an ultimatum: sway Prince Sebastian to join the Rebels, convincing him of his father’s evil nature, or they will take him out.

But Zara is uncertain about a future under the Rebels’ command and where the prince’s heart truly lies. She must decide who to trust, what to believe, and what she’s truly fighting for before the king destroys all of Karm, including her heart.

My Review: I had so much fun reading this book!  Being in a wold that's "perfect" but finding out the truths and knowing what to do with that information is what Zara is up against.  I'm not sure if I would want to live in this world, everything is too perfect.  But siding with the rebellion seems the most logical thing for Zara to do.

Trisha Wolfe has given us a story that almost seems like it could exist, or could have existed.  Its amazing the detail she's given us, to where we are able to see everything in our own minds.  It may not be exactly what she was seeing, but that's ok!!

Review: Everlast by Andria Buchanan

Everlast by Andria Buchanan
Published Date: September 2013
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Genre: YA

The Story: Allie Munroe has only ever wanted to belong, maybe even be well liked. But even though she’s nice and smart and has a couple of friends, she’s still pretty much the invisible girl at school. So when the chance to work with her friends and some of the popular kids on an English project comes up, Allie jumps at the chance to be noticed. And her plan would have worked out just fine…if they hadn’t been sucked into a magical realm through a dusty old book of fairy tales in the middle of the library. Now, Allie and her classmates are stuck in Nerissette, a world where karma rules and your social status is determined by what you deserve. Which makes a misfit like Allie the Crown Princess, and her arch-rival the scullery maid. And the only way out is for Allie to rally and lead the people of Nerissette against the evil forces that threaten their very existence.

My Review: This was so cool to read!  I liked the fact that how you treat others and such is how it's determined what you end up being in this other realm.  Allie goes from un-cool to princess, where she'll end up fighting evil.  This story is a great one to read and get away from reality, even if its only for a few hours.

Prelude by Nely Cab

Prelude

Author: Nely Cab

Release Date: 2/3/14

Prelude – Creatura 0.5
It’s not easy creating life, but that’s what Deus was meant to do. And as amazing as his new creations may be, Deus finds that there’s nothing wonderful about being the only person in existence. Using his power, he molds a companion to keep him company; only, something goes awry and Starr soon proves to be as wild as the animals he’s crafted.
What do you do when the only other person in the universe hates you? You fall in love, of course…because that’s how forever begins.

My review: Nely Cab is an an AMAZING AUTHOR! I was SO HOOKED on her book Creatura that I thought about it for days!
After reading Prelude, I am SO FREAKING excited to find out what Nely has in store for us next. I love this novella. I was told it "ties into Creatura A LITTLE bit" so there are no spoilers to Creatura in it. Seeing life through Deus and Starr's eyes is amazing. I love how the story played out and the detail that could picture in my mind. This story reminds me of a popular story that is known world wide. I don't want to give it away but I will say, I like this version better :) ENJOY!!!!

"Becoming one with the car, I shift with her sounds, letting her rip, letting her run.  And in seconds, I pass the finish line, laughing, soaring like a bird in flight."

The Story: From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane
The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life—that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers…and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker—a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.
Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks—no matter how angelic she might look.
