Review: Triangles by Kimberly Ann Miller

Triangles by Kimberly Ann Miller
Published Date: July 2013
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Genre: YA

The Story: A cruise ship. A beautiful island. Two sexy guys. What could possibly go wrong?

In the Bermuda Triangle—a lot.

Hoping to leave behind the reminders of her crappy life--her father's death years ago, her mother's medical problems, and the loser who’s practically stalking her--seventeen-year-old Autumn Taylor hops on a ship with her sister for a little distraction. When she wakes up in the Bermuda Triangle, she fears she's gone nuts for more than one reason: that loser’s suddenly claiming they're a happy couple... a hot guy is wrapping his arms around her and saying "Happy Anniversary"... and suddenly, she’s full of bruises, losing her hair, and getting IV medication. Autumn visits the ship's doctor, hoping for a pill or a shot to make the craziness go away. Instead, she's warned that these "alternate realities" could become permanent.

She just has to ask herself one question—how the hell is she going to get out of this mess?

My Review:  Wow!  It's just, wow!! I received this in the mail last week, and I seriously couldn't put it down!  Triangles is the perfect summer read!  This is one book you will want to have as part of your collection.  Kimberly Ann Miller brings us on quite the adventure.  I mean, what girl wouldn't want two guys fighting over her?

Autumn only goes on the cruise because her mom arranged it and was hoping for a distraction from her life.  We see that she gets the biggest distraction that no one would want!  As I was reading, I just kept turning page after page, because I didn't want to stop.  I had to know what would happen to Autumn!  And boy, what an ending!!  You'll keep guessing the whole time!!  Trust me!

Oh, and don't forget, Spencer Hill Press is giving away a cruise!!  Check out the details here.

Blog Tour: IF I SHOULD DIE by Amy Plum - An Interview

I'm pleased to have the wonderful Amy Plum here with us at BCM again today. As part of the IF I SHOULD DIE blog tour, hosted by Mundie Moms (you can follow along with the tour by following THIS LINK), Amy was awesome enough to grant us an interview. But first, here's a little about the book:

Release Date: May 7, 2013
Publisher: HarperTeen
Pre-Order it from: Amazon | Barnes & Noble
Add it to Goodreads

About: I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.

Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together was shattered. He was betrayed by someone we both called a friend, and I lost him. Now our enemy is determined to rule over France’s immortals, and willing to wage a war to get what they want.

It shouldn’t be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he’s not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him. After what we’ve already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying—to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others—so that we could be together.  How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?

BCM: Hi Amy! It's a pleasure to have you at BCM again. IF I SHOULD DIE, the third book in your DIE FOR ME series is about to release. How has the journey from book one to book three been for you?

AP: Hello, and thanks for having me back! To be honest, the journey’s been a wild one. I went from writing DIE FOR ME as a potential stand-alone book, and then was given the green light to create a whole universe for my revenants, ending up with three novels and a novella (DIE FOR HER). Over the course of the books, I discovered characters I didn’t know existed in the beginning, and was able to explore my characters and their world in depth. To say it’s been exciting would be an understatement.

BCM: How did writing IF I SHOULD DIE compare to writing DIE FOR ME?

AP: When I was writing DIE FOR ME, I really had a blank palette. I had a whole world to create, mythology to develop, characters to become familiar with, and rules to establish. However, if you tell readers how everything works all at once, it’s overwhelming. Knowing that I had several books to write, I was able to sprinkle information lightly over the course of the trilogy, bringing up small “reveals” little by little until I finally got to the massive revelations of the final book. So IF I SHOULD DIE is the culmination of the series, where the reader finally understands what I’ve been working up to. It was very exciting to write.

BCM: Can readers expect any surprises in IF I SHOULD DIE?

AP: Yes. LOTS of surprises. None of which I can tell you without spoiling. (Sorry!)

BCM: Besides promotions for IF I SHOULD DIE, what are you working on now?

AP: I’m working on my new series, called AFTER THE END. It is a completely different world from that of the revenants, and is set in America this time!

BCM: What has been your favorite experience with writing this series?

AP: My favorite experience has been my contact with my readers. I had no idea how generous and enthusiastic a fandom could be. DIE FOR ME’s fans have embraced both the books and me, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their support!

BCM: How have you overcome any writing challenges?

AP: My greatest challenge is finding the time to write. With a recent move (from the French countryside to Paris) and two young kids with an active school and activity schedule, I have had to become super-organized in order to have the time I need to write.

BCM: Is there anything about this book that has surprised you?

AP: There were a few major events in the books that I knew would happen from the very beginning. But in both books 2 and 3 Kate had to go to some interesting places in order to achieve what she needed to for her relationship with Vincent to work. I was surprised by the details. (For example, I had no clue Kate and others would go to New York, nor that there was a major collection of revenant-themed art being hidden away in the basement of the Metropolitan museum.)

***About the Author***

Amy Plum is author of the International Bestsellers DIE FOR ME (an Indie Next List pick, Romance Times top pick, and recipient of a starred review from School Library Journal), UNTIL I DIE, and digital novella DIE FOR HER. The final book in the series, IF I SHOULD DIE, will be released in May 2013.

After being raised in Birmingham, Alabama, in a rather restrictive environment, AMY PLUM escaped to Chicago to an even more restrictive environment at a university that expelled people for dancing. (And where she was called to the dean’s office for “wearing too much black”.) After all of that restrictiveness, she was forced to run far far away, specifically to Paris, France, where she only wore black and danced all she wanted.

After five years in Paris, she ventured to London, where she got an M.A. in Medieval Art History, specializing in Early Sienese Painting (1260-1348) mainly because it promised almost no hope of finding a paying job afterward.

Amy managed to find work in the world of art and antiques in New York. But after almost a decade of high-pressure lifestyle in the Big Apple, she swapped her American city for a French village of 1300 inhabitants.

After signing with HarperCollins for the DIE FOR ME series, Amy left her job as an English professor at Tours University to write full-time. She now lives in Paris with her two kids and big red dog Ella.

Review: Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
Published Date: March 2013
Publisher:  Margaret K. McElderry Books
Genre: YA

The Story: Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy.
Tessa Gray should be happy - aren't all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa's heart, will do anything to save her.

My Review: This is the perfect ending to the Infernal Devices.  I may have to start again with The Mortal Instruments - which starts after this series.

There is so much that goes on in this book, parts that I was so mad about!  Well, mad for Tessa!!  And then the parts that just wowed me.  Cassandra Clare does know what she's doing with writing these books.  Tessa finds out that she was born from impossible means.  And we learn more about her own family history along side her.  Then there's the issue with Jem's drug, the one he needs to live.  Also, our favorite warlock shows up to help Will out.

Will Tessa marry Jem?  Or will Mortmain win?  Pick up this final book in The Infernal Devices to find out!!  You won't be sorry!

Review: Iron Legends (Winter, Summer & Iron's Prophecy) by Julie Kagawa

Winter (#1.5) by Julie Kagawa
Published Date: June 2010
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Genre: YA

The Story:
Meghan Chase used to be an ordinary girl...until she discovered that she is really a faery princess. After escaping from the clutches of the deadly Iron fey, Meghan must follow through on her promise to return to the equally dangerous Winter Court with her forbidden love, Prince Ash. But first, Meghan has one request: that they visit Puck--Meghan's best friend and servant of her father, King Oberon--who was gravely injured defending Meghan from the Iron Fey.

Yet Meghan and Ash's detour does not go unnoticed. They have caught the attention of an ancient, powerful hunter--a foe that even Ash may not be able to defeat....

An eBook exclusive story from Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series.

Summer (#3.5) by Julie Kagawa
Published Date: June 2011
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Genre: YA

The Story: A Midsummer's Nightmare? Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon's right hand, bane of many a faery queen's existence—and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl's death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts.

Now Ash has granted one favor too many and someone's come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck's help—into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice—betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist.

An ebook exclusive novella from Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series.

Iron's Prophecy (#4.5) by Julie Kagawa
Published Date: September 2012
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Genre: YA

The Story: Meghan Chase is finally getting used to being the Iron Queen, ruler of the Iron Fey. Her life may be strange, but with former Winter prince Ash by her side at last, she wouldn’t have it any other way.

But when they travel to the Summer and Winter courts’ gathering for Elysium, the oracle from Meghan’s past returns with a dire prophecy: “What you carry will either unite the courts, or it will destroy them.” Now Meghan faces a devastating choice that may determine the future of all fey—and her and Ash’s unborn child…

A novella from the bestselling Iron Fey series.

My Reviews: While getting the main books in the Iron Fey series, I cam across these three different novellas!  It was exciting to see what was going on between the different novels.  They were short and still very well written, like the rest of the series!!

Iron's Prophecy, which occurs after the final book in the Iron Fey series, Iron Knight, leads us right into Lost Prince, which is Ethan's story.

It's hard to write a review on each individual novella, they average around 70 pages or less!  But they all complete the series.  Each one fills in a little gap between The Iron King & The Iron Princess, The Iron Queen & The Iron Knight, and after The Iron Knight.  If you've read those main books, but not the novellas, I would recomend rereading the Iron Fey series, and fill in with each of the novellas!!  You won't be sorry!

Review: Lament: A Restraint Novel by Sandra Madera

Lament: A Restraint Novel by Sandra Madera
Published Date: January 2012
Publisher:  Self
Genre:  YA Paranormal

The Story: Stranded in a foreign land, two sisters, Linda and Laura are on a quest to regain their fortune and rebuild their once normal life. However, the past they fought so hard to flee has caught up with them and each must face the consequences of their actions. For Linda, the price may be too high. Something seeks her demise. (YA Fiction Novel, intended for ages 16 and up).

After the horrifying experience of fleeing for their lives, Linda Carter and her sister, Laura, are on a mission to reclaim what is rightfully theirs. However, they never expected their past to follow them.

Betrayed by those closest to them and left at the mercy of those they fought to escape, everything they planned goes horribly wrong as Linda is captured by her enemy and held captive in an attempt to lure Laura into a trap.

Can Linda escape without being bitten by the very beast she both feared... and loved?

My Review:  Wow!!  This book is better than the first!  The first book, we saw everything through Laura's eyes.  This time, we see through Linda's eyes.  And boy, I was harsh on her in the first book!!  Both sisters seem to be thinking the same things about themselves, but not realizing the other one is on that same track.

There's plenty of action and twists in Lament.  Those who have read Restraint, will find that very little has happened between the books, since Lament starts where Restraint left off.  I love that about series in general, where you don't need a chapter explaning things that may have happened.

If you want a different view on vampires, or want to go into the past, this series is a good read!!

My review of Restraint, the first book in this series.

Review: House of Cards by Ilana Waters

House of Cards by Ilana Waters
Published Date: March 2013
Publisher: Self
Genre: YA Paranormal

The Story: Eighteen-year-old Sherry has just begun her newly independent life in Paris when she is kidnapped by a group of vampires. They hold her hostage in the House of Cadamon, their catacomb lair beneath the city, ruled with an iron fist by a leader known as “the Master.” The only thing keeping Sherry alive is her ability to tell vampire fortunes through tarot cards, a task she is forced to perform night after night. She finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a four-hundred-year-old reluctant blood drinker who is as much a prisoner of Cadamon as she is.

Things get even more complicated when Sherry and Lucas begin falling for each other—hard. Will they be able to keep Sherry alive long enough for them both to escape the House of Cadamon? Or will the Master and his band of evil minions succeed in controlling the lives of the young lovers—by whatever means necessary?

With its breathtaking Parisian setting, fast-moving plot, and strong-willed heroine, this paranormal romance will keep you spellbound!

My Review: Wow, this book is awesome!  The vampires that live in the House of Cadamon are monsters, all except for one.

This is a different take on vampires, the rules and how they live, etc.  I did enjoy reading this book, it only took me a while to read since I was reading two other books at the same time!  BUT, the story stays with you when you're not reading.  I began to wonder what was happing to Lucas and Sherry as I went about other things.  It kept me reading until I got to the end, but I was hoping for so much more!!!

Ilana Waters has described Paris, and the catacombs, so well that you begin to feel like you're there.

Author Ednah Walters
I grew up reading Nancy Drew and Hardy boys mysteries, hence Stratemeyer influence, before I graduated to Mills & Boons (starting with Janet Daily's Shutter the Sky) and the rest is history. I enjoy good love stories, tingly mysteries and wondrous adventures. When I finished my college and decided to be a stay-at-home mother, I devoured books like they were going out of production, until reading just wasn't enough. So I started to write. I've written picture books, contemporary and romantic suspense, biracial/multicultural books, and finally YA fantasy. Awakened is the first book in The Guardian Legacy series. I'm working on book 2, tentatively named Betrayed. When I'm not writing, I do things with my family, five children or my darling husband of 18 years. I live in a picturesque valley in Utah, the setting for my series.

Apollyon Blog Tour

Your letter for the day is:
What is this you ask? If you follow the below links to Stuck in Books you will see the FULL details of this blog tour. Are you looking to get a little Aiden insight? By collecting these letters, you can unlock a scene from Aiden's POV...Trust me when I say YOU WANT TO READ THIS SCENE!!!!

Apollyon by Jennifer L Armentrout
Released date: April 9th 2013
4th book in the Covenant Series

From Goodreads:
Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

Huge THANKS to Stuck in Books for hosting this amazing tour! Please follow the link to Stuck in Books for complete tour details!!!

My review: If I had to describe this series in one word it would be A-FREAKING-MAZING!!! I love this series. This series keeps getting better after each book, novellas included! The world that author Jennifer L Armentrout has created is simply amazing. The characters are so well written that each book, each page and each line plays out like a movie in your head. You feel what the characters feel and you can see what the characters see.

It is really hard to review book 4 in a series without spoilers. I am totally against spoilers so I will do my best.

In Apollyon, Alex is still kicking butt and taking names but sometimes it is her own butt she is kicking. I love Alex so much and WOULD NEVER want to be in her shoes and make the decisions she has to make. This poor girl has been to hell and back a few times. Nothing has been easy for Alex yet she manages to keep her sanity, her love for everyone around her and her wits. Alex is one of my favorite female characters in all the book series I have read.

Aiden...oh super tormented, sexy Aiden. This poor guy has been on a roller coaster ride that rivals anything humans could ever build. I love all the sides of Aiden. Strong committed soldier, loving caring brother and torn into a million pieces with his feelings for Alex. I love Aiden and think of him as a huge character but I am not Team Aiden *ducks from all flying debris*. Sorry all...I love Aiden to pieces but...

This brings us to Seth. I have been Team Seth since this series started! Even though Seth is a player, full of himself and full of this freaking weird power, I am all swoony over him! At times there seems no hope for Seth to redeem his naughty ways and then BAM he redeems himself in a way that makes me keep on loving him! I think in Sentienel, we are going to have a serious turn of events that will blow us all away!

Apollyon was impossible to put down. As with all the books in this series, I read it from front to back in one sitting. This series has been an amazing addition to my collection of most treasured books. I will be reading this series again from start to finish when Sentinel comes out. I am anxious for Sentienl but yet I don't want this series to ever end! I love it too much!

If you are new to this series, I suggest you get Half Blood RIGHT now and start reading. You are going to fall in love with Alex, Aiden and Seth's world and want to stay in it and live or maybe that is just me :) ENJOY!!!

BCM's Third Birthday Bash - Celebration Post # 20

Before we get to today's giveaway I'll post about being part of the Books Complete Me Blog.  I am the newest member having joined just this past summer. I am grateful to be a part of this wonderful group where I get to spread my love for great books with a lot of other like minded people.  I have found that at author's signings I can be a bit tongue-tied so it was a challenge initially for me to contact authors and ask them for things like interviews, extras or even just sharing my reviews.  Luckily authors are a very special group of people that are super nice and are willing to work with us bloggers for our followers.  Even though I am probably still the shyest member of the blog when it comes to contacting authors I have enjoyed the challenge and the responses.  I love to share a little something extra with our followers when I can.  I am, after all, first and foremost a reader like you who loves extras and is on the hunt for my next good read.

We are giving away 3 e-books today:
Life On The Edge- Jennifer Comeaux

Here's a special treat from one of the books we are giving away today.  It is a deleted scene from Jennifer Comeaux's Life On The Edge.

I hung back in the kitchen to get a breather from the party in the den, and Nick came up and put his arm around me. "Are you having fun? Your costume is amazing."

"Thanks." I glanced down at my gray 1940’s-style dress. The sweetheart neckline and belted waist fit perfectly after the tailor’s alterations.

"Hey, where's your new boyfriend?” I asked. “I wanted to meet him."
"Oh, that was over before it started. He was too high-maintenance."

"I'm sorry. Aubrey said you were really cute together."

"Yeah, he was doll. I should've known he was too good to be true." Nick looked across the granite island into the den. "And speaking of dolls, check out Sergei in the uniform."
I’d been trying all night not to stare too much at Sergei, but I let myself take a moment now to appreciate how ridiculously hot he looked in his navy police uniform. The tight shirt showed off his muscular chest, and the short sleeves hugged his biceps. My eyes traveled downward to the holster resting on his lean hips. I felt my face grow warm, and all I could manage was a tiny laugh.
"Girl, I know he's your coach, but you're not blind," Nick said.
“Yeah, he looks good." I tried to sound nonchalant.
Nick peered at me. "You're blushing. I think somebody's got a little crush."
"No, I don't," I said quickly.
"Hey, it happens. I've seen it before plenty of times.”
"Trust me, I don't have a crush.” I'm just madly in love with him.
"Okay, whatever you say." He squeezed my shoulders and headed toward the den.
I turned to the makeshift bar on the kitchen counter for a soda. The ice chest was almost empty, so I scooted into the small utility room off the kitchen to get a new bag, and behind me someone touched my right arm.
"Ma'am, you're under arrest," Sergei said, gently taking my other arm and circling handcuffs around my wrists. "You have the right to remain silent."
I laughed. "What are you doing?"
"You have to come with me." He pressed his hand to my shoulder and steered me toward the back door.
We walked out into the damp night, and I twisted my neck to look at Sergei. "What am I being charged with?"
He didn't answer as he continued to nudge me ahead of him. We rounded the corner of the house, and he spun me to face him while backing me against the wall. Leaning toward me, Sergei locked his deep blue eyes on mine. The corners of his mouth tipped slightly upward.
"Endangering the life of a police officer," he said.
"How did I do that?"
He momentarily lowered his gaze. "You're killing me in that dress."
A shiver accompanied my smile. "I didn't realize I was lethal."
"I'm going to have to frisk you," he said, putting his hands on my waist.
"By all means. I'm not hiding anything."
Sergei angled nearer, his mouth hovering and teasing mine, making my heart race with anticipation. As his hands slowly traveled up from my waist and settled on the bodice of my dress, our lips finally met. The long and lingering kiss that followed proved worth the wait.
"What's a girl have to do to get out of these cuffs?" I asked breathlessly.
He eyed me with amusement. "How do I know you're not going to grab my gun?"
I stifled a laugh. After regaining composure, I said, "I guess you're just gonna have to trust me."
Sergei appeared to ponder my request, but his smile grew wider. Turning me around, he released my hands from the cuffs.
I faced him again and said sweetly, "Thank you, Officer."
He moved closer to me, and I quickly reached for the plastic gun in his holster and yanked it out. Sergei grasped my wrist, but I already had the barrel pointed at his nose.
"Don't even think about it," he said.
With a big grin, I pulled the trigger, sending a spray of water all over his face. Tiny drops snaked through the slight stubble on his jaw. I giggled as he wiped his eyes with his hand.
"You think that's pretty funny," he said.
I laughed louder, and Sergei drew me to him, dripping water on me. My squeal was silenced by Sergei's lips covering mine. I wrapped my arms around him, letting the gun drop to the ground.
The breeze rustling the trees and the faint sound of music inside the house provided the only background noise until a voice exclaimed, “Oh!”
Sergei and I broke apart and looked toward the voice. Trevor and his girlfriend stood there, both with their mouths hanging open.

We have two different packages today!!!  Many thanks to CA Kunz!!
Childe by CA Kunz, Dark Days by CA Kunz & swag
Cat Colvin
Average Teenager?
Or Something Else Entirely?

Cat Colvin is pretty much your typical run-of-the-mill teenager. Sure, she’s taller than most girls, has a mane of fiery red hair that’s impossible to tame, is left-handed, and her eyes are two different colors, but that’s where the differences end... unless you include the minor detail of her slow transformation into a Childe.

High school can definitely be challenging, and for Cat it’s no different. This is especially true when she’s faced with the daunting task of trying to hide her budding Childe traits as they begin to reveal themselves at the most inopportune times. To make matters worse, her family is oddly dead set against Ryan, the boy she grows to like. But everyone has their secrets: is Ryan really what he seems to be, and what is Cat’s family not telling her?

The Childe is the first book in this coming-of-age fantasy series which follows Cat's life through the twists and turns toward finding out whom and what she really is. Come and take the plunge with Cat into a world filled with mystery, biting humor, and the paranormal
Surviving tenth grade is the least of Cat Colvin’s worries.

Cat Colvin wants more than anything to just be an “average” teenager and blend in, but having found out the secret of her adoption has Cat questioning her entire life. Unfortunately, there are much deeper and darker secrets being withheld from her that may prove to threaten her very existence. Cat will be forced to make a choice: stay in Astoria and possibly endanger all that she loves, or flee and hide amongst her kind.

Friendships will be tested, family bonds will be tried, and even Cat herself will be pushed to her limits both emotionally and physically; all while trying to maintain a somewhat normal relationship with her boyfriend Ryan. What is actually going on in the quaint port town of Astoria, and are Cat and her loved ones prepared for the dark days that loom ahead?
The Modified by CA Kunz & swag
What would you sacrifice to save the one’s you love? To save the one who holds your heart? To save the world?

Kenley Grayson is all too familiar with these questions.

After Earth is thrust into its first intergalactic war with an unknown race called the Bringers, our military forces begin to suffer heavy losses. Desperate for a solution, the Allied Federation issues a worldwide draft for every able seventeen year old to enlist. As Kenley turns seventeen, she finds herself thrown into the very war that took her older brother’s life.

This year’s draft is a little different than in the past though. A new program, known as the Magnus Project, has been introduced, and only the best and brightest qualify. Kenley is amongst a select few whom are chosen to join this elite group of soldiers, and as a part of this project, undergoes a modification procedure that leaves her and her peers endowed with powers beyond their wildest dreams.

As Earth continues in its struggle against the Bringers, Kenley is transported to a high-tech training facility, the Magnus Academy, to prepare for the major battle that lies ahead. It’s here that she meets the California heartthrob, and son of a legendary war hero, Landon Shaw. As unexpected feelings toward Landon begin to develop, Kenley wonders if this is the right time or place for romance to bloom, especially when those feelings start to interfere with her training.

With the weight of the world on her shoulders, Kenley is constantly reminded of how important she and the rest of the Magnus cadets are to the fate of humanity. She is one of the Modified, Earth’s last line of defense against utter destruction.
