Review: City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
Published Date: May 2012
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing
Genre: YA

The Story:  The New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments continues—and so do the thrills and danger for Jace, Clary, and Simon. Can the lost be reclaimed? What price is too high to pay for love? Who can be trusted when sin and salvation collide?

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge.

Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

My Review:  Have you ever started a series that wasn’t quite finished?  And then when the next installment comes in you forget everything that happened already?  Well, that’s not the case with City of Lost Souls!  Yes, it had been a while since I finished the previous 4 books in this series, but it didn’t seem to be a problem.  I was back in the story, with Clary, Jace, Izzy and the rest of the friends and enemies.  Even though Valentine was killed in the previous book, his son Sebastian seems to have taken up where daddy left off.  Everyone is having some issue or another with love.  Is it worth it?  What will happen? Etc.  If you haven’t started the Mortal Instruments series, you need to!  You won’t be disappointed.

  1. This book gets me every time. Just when I think it's over they throw in another curve. This story and life has become a part of mine. I feel for the characters in the story. This is a wonderful story to lose yourself to.
