Welcome to our first installment of BCM Author Spotlight! Every month we'll select an author to feature for our BCM Spotlight, so be sure to stop by each Sunday to learn more about the authors we've chosen. With book bloggers constantly creating wonderful and exciting new memes, we'd like to thank the lovely ladies at Page Turners Blog and Portrait of a Book for the inspiration behind our BCM Author Spotlight.
So, for the month of August, I chose to spotlight Brenda Pandos- author of the Talisman series and the Mer Tales! For the third week, an interview with the main girls of The Mer Tales and The Talisman Series:
Ash, Gladdy, Julia
BCM: Have you girls ever hung out?
Gladdy and Ash watch Julia suspiciously. Julia smiles nervously.
Gladdy: Uh, no. Brenda keeps us in our own worlds for the most part.
They all nod in agreement.
BCM: Gladdy – what was it like to find your sister who you thought was gone forever?
Gladdy: Surprising at first. Though I’d hoped she was alive, I wasn’t sure. And I’m glad we found each other!
BCM: If you gals could dress the boys however you’d want, what would they look like?
Julia: I’d like to loosen Nicholas up a little. Jeans, flip flops, and T-shirts would be nice for a change.
Ash chuckles: I’d actually like to dress up Fin a little more. A nice button down dress shirt and slacks, with a leather jacket.
Gladdy smirks: Jax is just perfect, thank you.
BCM: What’s your favorite thing about YOUR guy?
Julia: Nicholas’ smile
Ash: Fin’s adorable eyes and smile. Yeah, his smile, too.
Gladdy: Jax’s sense of humor, hands down.
BCM: What’s the worst thing you did to Brenda? ;)
All three look at one another and snicker.
Ash: Well, I was pretty moody the entire time in Everblue. She’d complain all I wanted to do was wallow at home.
Julia: Me, too. And I was always crying over Nicholas and polling everyone to why he was avoiding me. *shakes head*
Gladdy laughs and lifts her nose in the air: Well, I was perfect just as I was, take it, or leave it. I think Brenda liked writing me the best.
Ash rolls her eyes.
BCM: Here’s a tough one, which is better: Vampires or Mermen? ;)
All three gulp and eye one another.
Gladdy: What ever do you mean, Nicole?
Julia: Yeah, I mean, vampires and mermen aren’t real. *lifts her brow*
BCM: Okay, then, next question. If you could buy anything and money wasn’t a problem, what would it be?
Gladdy: Everything, dawling. But then, with Jax’s power of persuasion, who needs money?
Ash nudges Gladdy and gives her the eye.
Ash: What she means is, Jax doesn’t deny her anything, Julia.
Julia: Oh, I see. Well, I don’t know what I’d do. I hadn’t ever really thought of that. Travel, maybe?
BCM: What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
Gladdy: Once I had prime rib and a baked potato with everything on it. Where I come from, we don’t eat like that.
Julia: Where you come from?
Ash: Galadriel is from a small village in the mountains of New Zealand, hence the accent. Anyway, I’d have to say sushi. Fin turned me onto it, and it’s delish.
Julia looks between both girls.
Julia: I don’t eat out much, but I’d have to say my dad makes the best pot roast and mashed potatoes, and garlic bread—ever.
BCM: Do you girls have a favorite book(s)?
Julia: I think I’m going to have to read Everblue and Evergreen, now. With the way their acting, I’m curious why.
Gladdy: Likewise, though I do love the classics.
Ash: I don’t read much, but The Emerald Talisman might be my next read.
BCM: What smell reminds you of your childhood?
Gladdy: Salt water
Julia: Salt water? I thought you grew up inland?
Gladdy: Well, not my entire life. I did end up here in the states, didn’t I.
Julia: Sorry, I’m not trying to argue with you … it’s just peculiar. I’d say play do and that weird craft glue take me back to Kindergarten.
Ash: Me, too. And evergreens, aspens, and white firs. The whole foresty smell reminds me of home. And Gran’s cooking.
BCM: Thanks girls!
