Angelina's Secret by Lisa Rogers

Paperback
Published February 1st 2012

Goodreads: As a child, Angelina spent years in counseling learning that Josie, her imaginary friend, wasn't real, but it turns out her childhood friend wasn't imaginary after all.Now Angelina has to accept she's either (A) crazy or (B) able to see ghosts. Wanting to believe in her sanity, she chooses (B) and welcomes Josie back into her life. But even Josie can't help her deal with Shelly, the spirit of a confused teenager, and things go very, very wrong. When Angelina finds herself in a psychiatric hospital, she faces a choice: she can spend the rest of her life pretending to be someone she isn't, or she can embrace who she is and take a chance that she may never get to go home.

My Review: I LOVE GHOSTS. LOVE THEM! I am a firm believer and have had experiences myself. When I first heard of Spencer Hill Press signing Lisa, I found her on Facebook. We chatted back and forth several times in regards to the supernatural. Author Lisa Rogers is not only a brilliant author but an incredible person. It felt we have been friends for years. Even though Angelina's Secret is fiction, it can easily be recognized by many I would say as similar to life experiences. My own daughter had an imaginary friend as a small child named "Sarah". Sarah was not imaginary in my opinion at all. She was exactly as Lisa writes...someone from beyond!

I loved this book and read it straight through. The characters are so well developed in story. You can really feel the emotions of everyone involved. I highly recommend this book. I do not feel thsi book has a scary ghost story aspect to it. It is more of an understanding and learning experience. It is wonderfully written. I was all smiles when I finished this book.

I cannot WAIT for Lisa's next books. I would love love love to see Lisa write a good scary ghost story. I know full well she would be quite capable of it and very very good at it! I will be FIRST in line for any future books Lisa writes! Count on that!

and now I introduce to you...our Author Lisa Rogers!!!!

The Woman Behind the Books

Having my first two books published only three months apart, I have found myself doing a lot of guest posts lately. I have talked extensively about both books, ghosts, the story behind the stories, the road to publication, etc. The only thing I haven’t talked much about is me.

Starting with the basics, yes, Lisa Rogers is my real name. I have several years of experience of being in my forties and I have been married to a (mostly) wonderful man for 28 years. I have two awesome children. They are awesome, mainly because they are now grown and no longer live in my house.

About three years ago, both of my children decided it was time for them to get married and they did so two months apart. Even though that was a, let’s say stressful time, it was most definitely worth it. Both of my children have wonderful spouses and between the two couples, they have given me three adorable grandchildren that I don’t know how I ever lived without.

I’d love to tell you that I live an exciting glamorous life and I jet off to wonderful exotic places on a whim. Truth is, I’ve never even been on an airplane, (I know, sad and unbelievable in today’s world, but still true.) I live a simple life in a small Oklahoma town. Now when I say small I’m not talking about having only one mall and limited dining choices. I’m talking small, as in, we have a school, a couple of convenience stores and a post office, which is roughly the size of most people’s bathrooms. (No, I’m not kidding.) We boast of a population of 878. Before you ask, I didn’t forget any digits in those numbers, and between you and I, I’m pretty sure some folks counted their pets and or livestock to get the numbers up that high.

When I’m not writing or spending time with my family, I enjoy reading, gardening, and doing home improvement projects. Right now, I’m in the midst of writing my third book, promoting the first two, and painting the outside of my house. I seem to always have some type of remodeling project going on. I guess that stems from years of working along side my husband in his carpentry business.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little bit better but I must jet off now to some quaint little sidewalk café in Italy for dinner. Well…I am cooking spaghetti so that should count for something. Right?
