Pitch Dark Tour Wrap-Up & Giveaway

This past Friday (4/20), I had the extraordinary honor of not only attending a signing of three amazing authors, but to also meet them and interview them as part of their Pitch Dark tour stop. It was such a fun evening and one that will probably forever mark Jill Hathaway, Kimberly Derting and Dan Wells as all-time favorite authors.

So, here is how the evening went down. I arrived to the Burlington, MA Barnes & Noble at about 6:15 because I was super worried about not being able to get my laptop to work or my camera or, I don't know, SOMETHING. So I was there way too early, but it was okay because there were other awesome bloggers already there as well. The store had two chairs marked off for "Media/Blogger", which was super exciting, because they were centered right in front of the author table and was perfect for getting good video footage.

When the staff at the B&N informed us that the authors had arrived and would be with us shortly, I introduced myself and told her I was supposed to be interviewing the authors before the signing started and hoped beyond hope that she believed me. She did, and took me straight to them. Despite my obvious nervousness and extremely red face (that happens to me when I'm excited/nervous/scared/crazy), the authors put me at ease within seconds and the fun just never stopped after that.

Once our interview was over, I went back to my designated seat, and we all waited patiently for the authors to join us. The crowd felt on the small side, but there was definitely not shortage of questions. With the help of two awesome bloggers: Danielle @ Frenzy of Noise & Erica @ The Book Cellar, I was able to not only record the entire signing, but also tweet everything the authors said.

We had great interaction with twitter followers and laughed more than once with the authors responses. The videos from the signing are broken down into five different files. The first one is below and you can watch the others on our You Tube Channel. Enjoy!

***Please note that the video is still uploading and should be ready for viewing within the next few minutes.

Well, I love Kimberly Derting's The Body Finder! It was one of my favorite books in 2010. She created an awesome male character: Jay! :D

  3. I love that Jill Hathaway is a teacher and wrote Slide with reluctant readers in mind. It was fantastic and I'm gifting it to my sisters and cousins, as well as adding it to the future classroom library.

  4. I love that Kimberly Derting is constantly searching for the perfect mascara. I constantly try new brands trying to find the one that just works right. Alas, I still haven't found it.

  6. I love how amazing they all are at events. They are so friendly and answer questions and crack jokes with everyone. I love them on Twitter! I crack up when one actually writes me back. I love them! I just finished Delirium this past weekend, and I can't wait to get started on Pandemonium. I loved that book and the way Lauren Oliver can write is awesome.

  8. The video isn't working :(
It sounds like you had a great time though. I'm really envious! Hardly any YA authors ever come to the Tampa Bay area, so I'm thinking about going to Dallas to visit my family as an excuse to go to a signing out there.lol

  16. By the way, I know a 'Dalit' family and they are very light skinned, and I have seen 'dalits' that are just as brown as most other average Indians so that whole thing is dumb.
