Mini Tour: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Welcome to Day 1 of the Obsidian Mini Blog Tour! We have a very special interview with the main character from Obsidian, Katy and a mini review of the book. We hope you enjoy it!

This tour is running all week, so make sure you stop by all the blogs so you don't miss out on any of the awesome that's in store for you. You can find links to all the blogs below.

Release Date: December 6, 2011
Genre: YA

About the book: Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Mini Review: Katy isn't exactly sure what to expect when she gets to West Virginia, but it's not smoking hot Daemon and his equally beautiful sister, Dee. Katy and Daemon have an immediate chemistry, but it's nothing like you'd expect.

Obsidian is unique and fun. It kept me turning the pages late into the night and I'm on pins and needles waiting for book two. To keep this short, I'm going to stop here and say this: Obsidian is awesome in every way possible. It's absolutely one of my favorite books of the year--quite possibly taking the #1 slot. If you haven't already pre-ordered this book, you need to ASAP. It's fast paced, sexy, dangerous and oh so drool-worthy. An excellent read!

Katy Interview:

BCM: Tell us what you really think of West Virginia now that you're rooted there.

Katy: Um, at first I was a bit worried. I watched Wrong Turn before moving up here, and trust me, not a smart move. I had visions of three fingered psychopath hillbillies coming after me. But now? The place is beautiful and quiet. People don't have the accents you expect, and I haven't seen one outhouse yet. It's actually pretty cool.

BCM: We know from Katy's Krazy Obsession that you're a book blogger (YAY!). What are your favorite types of books to read?

Katy: "Oh, I have so many favorite types. I totally dig the YA books, especially paranormal and urban fantasy. A contemporary's premise has to really knock me off my feet to read it Not big on science fiction." A tiny grin peeks through. "I also like adult romances, graphic novels and I have this thing for history books. Weird, I know. By the way, I've totally fangirled your blog."

BCM: Summarize Daemon's ex, Ash in 3 words.

Katy: She rolls her eyes. "One cold...girl."

BCM: What's the most memorable thing that's happened since you moved to West Virginia?

Katy: "Wow, there's been several. I think when I went next door and asked for directions. So didn't expect a half naked dude to answer the door." A pink flush stains her cheeks. "Do you know how often Daemon runs around without a shirt? It's ridiculous. Did he go to the School of Jacob Black? Anyway, meeting Dee is pretty memorable.Love her."

BCM: Daemon is hot. He's annoying. He's strange. These are just a few ways to describe him. What are some of your favorite and least favorites parts of him?

Katy: "Yeah, Daemon is hot." She shifts, tucking her legs under her. "That's probably my favorite part. Okay. That's a lie. There are moments, few and far between, that the....real Daemon shows himself. And those are my favorite parts. My least favorite? The Daemon I have to deal with 99% of the time."
