Review: Accused by Kate Kaynak

Accused by Kate Kaynak
Release Date: August 15th, 2011
Genre: YA Paranormal
The 4th Ganzfield Novel

The Story: Someone in the government has files about Ganzfield...and now they have Maddie. The story continues with the fourth installment of the Ganzfield series.

Mindy's Review: Author Kate Kaynak has done it again. The fourth installment of the Ganzfield series does not disappoint. This page turning, breath holding on the edge of your seat book keeps you turning pages well into the night.

We start the book with Maddie and Trevor on their way to Aruba. Their much needed vacation. From the cover, you can see that SOMEONE is behind bars. The trials and tribulations that this person goes through is heart wrenching. You find yourself in the head of the person in jail, feeling exactly as they do. Kate's writing is so realistic, the story just sucks you in!

DO NOT read this book until you read Minder, Adversary and Legacy. This series is OUTSTANDING and we here at Book's Complete Me are SO HONORED to read this series!

Julie's ReviewKate Kaynak is a genius. I'm really not sure what I can say beyond that, she just is.  When it comes to YA works (or any written work, for that matter) the author either has the ability to capture the attention of the reader, or they don't. Kaynak has it IN SPADES.  I could not put down this book.

Accused takes us back to Ganzfield where all the students have "extra" abilities (at the beginning of the book, Kaynak gives a nice little synopsis of these abilities and an overview of what has happened in previous books). The situations Maddie faces in Accused are heart-wrenching... heart-stopping.  While reading this book, there were times I was grabbing a tissue even as I wished I could jump in the pages with my own Ganzfield-worthy ability and take out all of Maddie and Trevor's foes.  Oh, why can't I be a G-positive? This is one of those series that you read and wish you could just live there- you want it to be your world somehow. But, alas, the real world all to quickly intrudes as you close the book after the last page. I know one thing, when the series is complete, I will be returning to it again and again to reread and re-enter the world of Ganzfield!

For anyone who has not read the Ganzfield series yet, what on earth are you waiting for? I know you will find it just as fascinating as I have.  And I can't wait for the next book, Operative!

Nicole's Review: Kate Kaynak has created another fabulous book in her Ganzfield series.  Accused takes us to Maddie, who is sent to a highly sophisticated jail.  But it seems it's Trevor's turn to rescue Maddie.  Oh, Trevor.  Which of us wouldn't want a guy who would do anything for us?  Oh, and spoil us rotten.  ;)  This is an exciting read and it's fun to see all that goes on with expectant moms (read the last book!). If you haven't started this series yet, you need to.  It's never a dull moment, and you're always on your toes.  The best part about books!  Thanks Kate, can't wait to read the next one!

Cindy's Review: There is not much I can say about this book or series that my co-bloggers haven't already said. This series is a non-stop emotional roller coaster and I know every time I pick up one of these books I'm going to be out of commission until I finish it. Accused is no different. The G-positives are such a fun concept and it's so much fun to get inside this little world of students who will do anything for one another. It's not always fun and games, as there seems to be danger at every corner, but that's just part of what makes this series so exciting.

Accused is a thrill ride that has let me wanting more than ever before. Dare I say this is my favorite book in the series? I think so and I can't wait for Operative

  1. I can think of only one negative for working at Spencer Hill Press... and that is that I can no longer review the fantastic works that come out of there. But I agree with everything my blog partners say about this book, and the series for that matter. I loved the series before I started working there, and I will continue to love it forevermore. Words cannot express how fortunate I am that I am able to read and help to finalize books of this caliber for everyone out there to read.
