Cinder and Ella by Melissa Lemon - Interview

After reading Cinder and Ella by Melissa Lemon, I just had to interview her!! I'm so excited that she agreed!! So without further ado:

BCM: What is your favorite princess?

Hmmmm. I’d have to say my favorite is Princess Winnifred from “Once Upon a Mattress.” She’s from a swamp. Is there really any competition there?

BCM: How many siblings do you have?

I have four siblings. Three sisters and one brother.

BCM: What do you find relaxing?

Walking in the rain, listening to the rain, stormy weather. Did I mention rain? If I’m feeling tense, I like to fall asleep to a thunderstorm CD or some calm music. Playing the piano or guitar can also be calming depending on what I’m playing. Being in nature has to be included also.

BCM: What places would you like to visit, and why?

I have always had a fascination with Germany. German was the language I studied in high school and college. (Just don’t ask me to speak it, okay?) I love lederhosen, Oktoberfests, the castles, people, language… If I had the option, Germany would be my first choice. After that, it’d be cool to see everywhere!

BCM: What's the best part about seeing your name in print?

I don’t know. It’s just exciting that other people are going to be able to read my story. There is also a sense of accomplishment that is larger than any other I’ve ever felt before. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get here. Last year, I almost quit on two separate occasions. That just made me realize how important it was to me and what a big part of my life it was. It probably would have been similar to trying to give your right arm away. (Can you imagine? “Really, here it is. Take it. Just pull. I don’t need it anymore.”) So I kept going. I’m glad I did.

Thanks so much Melissa!! You can check out more about Melissa Lemon here.
