Top Ten Ways to Recover From Being Dumped by Emily Wing Smith

Today we have author Emily Wing Smith with us. She's providing some rather helpful advice on how to best recover from being dumped. Her book, Back When You Were Easier to Love, comes out tomorrow, April 28th from Dutton Juvenile. You can buy it HERE.

Top Ten Ways to Recover From Being Dumped:

10. The standby—eat ice cream. My recommendation: Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie.

9. Wait at least 48 hours before changing your hair in ANY way.

8. Burn stuff. Even if you’re not a pyro, it’s cathartic.

7. Leave the country. Or at least the county. Road trip!

6. Take up a handcraft. Knitting, crochet, needlepoint. Feel productive.

5. Do the Mentos-and-Diet-Coke experiment. Feel powerful.

4. Rock some Taylor Swift. Somewhere in her break-up repertoire there’s a song that defines yours perfectly. Maybe they all do.

3. Clean your closet. Febreeze anything that smells like him.

2. Visit all the places you used to go with him—but this time, go with your friends. Make a new memory at each stop.

1. Read Back When You Were Easier to Love.

  1. I *love* the inclusion of listening to Taylor Swift -- it's so true, haha :o)

Great list, and I am totally excited about reading this one!
