Top Ten with Lindsey Leavitt of Sean Griswold's Head

Lindsey Leavitt, author of Sean Griswold's Head, stopped by to give us her Top 10 Songs (Okay 11) That Get her In The Mood To Write. Her song list is not only honest but hilarious. We hope you enjoy them!

  1. JIMMY EAT WORLD These guys are my BOYS. They’re lyrics are awesome, and I’m like Paget’s dog when I hear them. Jimmy? Time to write. Two songs I listen to most are: Like She’ll Always Be and The Middle (an optimists ANTHEM)
  2. COLIN HAY Waiting for my Real Life to Begin Doesn’t the title say it?
  3. PLAIN WHITE TEES Hey there Delilah For when I want to write stories of boys who would write songs like this.
  4. WICKED I’m Not That Girl So many adolescent experiences summed up in that song.
  5. TAYLOR SWIFT Fifteen. Because, well, duh.
  6. THE GET UP KIDS Overdue Their sounds is super chill, so kind of makes me go into a trance.
  7. And I especially like to listen to music that reminds me of high school, so I’ll also go with…WEEZER (The Blue Album. All of it).
  8. UNWRITTEN LAW Cailin. I loved these guys in high school, and went to a bunch of their shows, and I just remember all the places I was and felt when I heard their music.
  9. GREEN DAY Time of Your Life Was my senior song. Which is funny, because it’s about a break up. But whatevs.
  10. NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK  Step by Step Don’t judge me.
  11. PUFF DADDY I’ll Be Missing You Love me some diddy. Or daddy. Or puffy.
