The Story: (from the Press Release) In Vampyre Kisses, a beautiful young woman named Faith is no longer content with her life. Deep down in her being, she craves excitement. This gripping tale of vampires, werewolves, and witches brings her yearning to life.
You will be enthralled as you meet Trent, a 400-year old green-eyed vampire who falls in love with Faith and endeavors to protect her from harm. And you will be captivated as you meet Faith’s mother, who has a more than surprising secret to hide, and learn about her father, who was mysteriously murdered not that long ago.
Soon Faith discovers that she is destined to restore her witch line and find the power that lies within, while she expands her knowledge and her confidence. But dangers are lurking everywhere, especially after assailants steal valuable gems from the vampire master and werewolf royalty. This intriguing tale will have you at the edge of your seat as you wonder whether Faith will learn what she needs to, to help her friends and rescue the stolen gems.
I love the world that Elizabeth created. What a wonderful mix of all paranormal beings that we love so much. I love that Faith, the lead character, jumps right into the paranormal world around her. I would personally do the same thing and therefore love Faith even more for this. I also just love that Faith jumps right into this new world with both feet. I think a lot of people would doubt this and say "No way would she ever do that" uhhh...I would DEF do that! Faith is my kinda girl. Single, no kids, boring job, boring life, goes to hang out with Vampires and become a witch...DIED AND GONE TO PARADISE (my alternate life of course. I love my family). The characters are strong characters with greatly detailed personalities and lives. Elizabeth does a wonderful job of building this world in your head so that you can see it play out word for word, action for action as you read it. The characters are so real they become like family.
My Review: I honestly bought this book because of: 1. The Cover 2. The Name. (I love Vampires...no hiding that fact at all)! I did not even know what the book was about. I contacted Elizabeth via Facebook & asked her if I could order the book directly from her signed ( I had no problem paying the shipping & handling on it). Imagine my fangirl euphoria when she said YES! We chatted a bit and then I got the book in the mail.
Elizabeth switches POV's throughout the beginning of the story between Faith and Trent. Sometimes this was a bit confusing but this did not continue to be confusing. Overall, it is great to see the story unfold through the various main characters. This also helps to build up the realness of these characters.
The story line evolves and evolves and just keeps getting better. I found myself so excited each time I learn of a new characters background and find out their secrets and hidden talents. I am very seriously ready for the next book. I think that Elizabeth is going to continue to progress into a super writer and continue to wow her fans for years to come. Overall I think this is an incredible Vampire story and cannot wait to sink my fangs the next one!
WITCHES AND VAMPIRES are my some of my FAVORITE characters. Before I found this book, I posted that on FB that I wanted a Vampire/Witch book! The Vampyre Kiss in the book is an incredible back story (read the book...you will get it)! It is a very original and a very cool idea. I love Faith's relationship to Morgan (my daughters name by the way)!!
I would highly recommend this book if you are a fan of vampires, witches, wolves and all that is paranormal. You will love the world of Faith & Trent.
