#BIR2010 - Interview with Kimberly Derting & The Body Finder Giveaway

We are SO excited to be sharing this interview with Kimberly Derting with you today. We already loved her but after doing this interview, we simply adore her more than we can say. She is just so much fun! Thank you Kimberly for the fantastic interview!
We are also offering you a chance to win her book The Body Finder below. Please read the rules and fill out the form to enter.

BCM: You mention on your website that you have plans to take over the world. Name three steps to your plan. :-)

KD: Sell foreign rights in every country including Mauritania and Uzbekistan (not quite there yet…); have subliminal messages strategically placed in all network broadcasting dictating that every citizen must own a copy of THE BODY FINDER; and of course, the most important step, become queen of the United States.

So far, it’s only been baby steps, but I have high hopes…

BCM: If you were an article of clothing, what would you be and why?

KD: A Snuggie (that counts since you wear it, right???), because who doesn’t love a blanket with sleeves?

BCM: What music artist or group can always get you to sing along?

KD: Alright, here’s where I blush just a little bit, but here goes…

Ke$ha.  There, I’ve said it, are you happy?  She’s my guilty music pleasure.

BCM: Name three authors that inspired you with your own writing.

KD: Stephen King (hands-down number one!), John Saul (I grew up reading his creepy ghost stories), and Thomas Harris (no one has ever written a better bad guy than Hannibal Lecter).

BCM: What is your best read of 2010?

KD: Gah, you’re killing me!  This is the toughest question for me to answer because there are so many great books!!!  I’ll narrow it down to ones that are fairly recent reads, but that’s the best I can do:

I just finished City of Bones and loved it (I know, what took me so long?), Beautiful Darkness (loveloveloved!), The Girl Who Played with Fire (Holy…!!!), Hush, Hush (one word: Patch), A Need so Beautiful (Suzanne Young’s 2011 release that I blurbed).  I could seriously go on and on…

About The Body Finder:
The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting
Publisher: HarperCollins
Released: March 16, 2010

Book Summary (from HarperCollins): Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . . and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find dead birds her cat left for her. But now that a serial killer is terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, Violet realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved by her hope that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer . . . and becoming his prey herself.

  4. I'm thinking some of that world domination plan could be another novel which would in turn help with the plan.
