Review: The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner By Stephenie Meyer
Have you ever wondered what Bree was thinking? Or how the newbies were created? We know from Eclipse that Victoria was creating them with the help of Riley. But what were they thinking? Stephanie Meyer gives us a peek into their short second lives, through the point of view of Bree Tanner.
Somewhere near Seattle, Washington, newborn vampires are on the loose. Bree has befriended two vampires in her large coven. But, in Eclipse we never meet them. In this book, I came to care about Bree. She didn't know what Riley, nor Victoria for that matter, was up to. She trusted Carlisle. Even though I knew the ending (about the last couple of pages are similar to Eclipse, just through Bree's POV and not Bella's), it still didn't matter. I was wishing she didn't have to die, and that she could go with the Cullens.
Stephenie Meyer wrote an introduction for this novella, where she tells us what she was thinking as Bree became more than just another newborn vampire. I give this book 4 and a half stars. If you enjoyed Meyer's Twilight Series and craved for more, you will enjoy Bree's story.
